Tim James, a partner of the firm, is a 1978 cum laude graduate of Princeton University and a 1987 graduate of the NYU School of Law.

Following five years as a litigator at Weil, Gotshal & Manges and Szold & Brandwen Mr. James served as Senior Legislative Assistant to Rep. Jerrold Nadler; Director of Government and Community Relations and was Associate Counsel of the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation. Mrt. James was tehn Court Attorney to New York City Civil Court Judge Debra Samuels.

In 2005 Mr. James joined Harriet N. Cohen, Bonnie Rabin, Martha Cohen Stine and Gretchen Beall Schumann in their prior firm and has been with them at Cohen Rabin Stine Schumann LLP since its founding in 2011.

A former member of the Rye City Human Rights Commission and Manhattan Community Board 2, Mr. James is presently a Trustee of the White Plains Public Library and a Vice Chair of the Westchester County Democratic Committee.

He is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the New York City Bar Association, the Westchester County Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers' Association.
